I love my daughter, literally more than I would ever be able to put into words. But I HAVE to be honest! Taking care of a little one is not a piece of cake, no matter how rewarding it is. There are times when I don’t want to put her down. Times when I just want to stare at her as she sleeps. And there also times when I feel like I’m going to breakdown if I don’t recollect myself.
I always miss her when I’m away from her so taking long trips to Target or the grocery store isn’t my ideal choice for a mental break. So if you’re anything like me, neeeeeding time to refresh but wanting to stay close to your little one, here are three ways you can get a mental break while chillin at home with your baby. And they all include a special hiding spot…the bathroom!
Hide it out.
You know the saying, “you can run but you can’t hide”? Yeah, well that doesn’t apply here. If dad or grandma or any sane adult that you completely trust with your child is around, you go to that bathroom and stay for as long as you need. Odds are, no one will question you if you’re saying you need to take care of business so by all means…

Take your time.
When its time for you to get in the shower, don’t feel the need to rush. Again, this is assuming someone trustworthy is able to watch the perfect screaming angel. Honestly, since I am home alone with baby a lot, I shower with her in the bathroom with me. Once I get her to sleep or at least in good spirits, I put her in her chair, face her towards me & handle my business. The sound of the vent & running water is the perfect white noise for her, I can keep my eye on her, and most importantly, I can take my time.
Since you’re in the bathroom already, get your skin glowing with a face mask of your choice. For most mask, you have to leave them on for 10-20 mins so lock yourself away until you’re done. Scroll through Pinterest, read a book, soak in a bath, dowhatchugottado mama!
